Pegasus Airlines stated that services between London’s Stansted Airport and Istanbul will start operating in September.

The route will run three times a week for the first month, after which an extra flight will be added to its schedules.

Ali Sabanci, chairman of Pegasus Airlines, commented: By increasing the frequency on our London route, we will be able to offer our valued customers greater choice and flexibility than ever before.

He added that this will make the service more appealing to both holidaymakers and business travellers, as they will benefit from quick and easy flights between the two cities.

Improved access to the country could also make it a more attractive proposition for people who are thinking of investing in an overseas property.

According to the Times, Turkey currently offers relatively low house prices, as a residence along the coast can be snapped up for just £35,000
