UK backs Turkey for EU
UK backs Turkey’s aspiration to join EU and will do is utmost to implement its objective, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated at the reception dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of “Turkey’s friends from Workers’ Party” lobby establishment.
Brown thanked Turks living in UK for the contribution to British society development.
According to him, in the course of Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to London, he intends to discuss Turkey-EU relations, as well as world conflicts and the ways to their resolution.
British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs David Wright Miliband said UK-Turkey relations achieved significant progress since 1997, emphasizing that the country is of great importance to EU, TRT channel reports.
